For the time being, this is where my Empires & Puzzles miniguides that don't neatly fall elsewhere will go. If and when some of these become more elaborate or popular, I may break them out into their own pages!
This is a miniguide aimed at folks who may not already be sure they are or are not doing the Quick Brawl event in Empires & Puzzles.
For quick reference: Quick Brawl asks you to win a certain number of raids in a relatively short span of time (at the time of writing, 40 raid wins within 5 days) -- doing so nets you a Raid Brawl chest.
Folks on Discord have reported that this chest includes 10-20 gems, a random energy flask, two 4* aethers, six 3* aethers, 3-6 loot tickets, a low* Master Trainer hero or midsized iron/food chest, and, most notably, 500 Instant Power coins.
If you have limited time, patience, or raid flasks for raiding (or, RNG forbid, if you are running more than one account), consider mono attacks if you don’t already — this is not to take a position on whether mono is *better*, but it sure tends to be *faster* (win or lose)
Log in when you can throughout the day — theoretically, if you “keep the clock running” on raid flags by using them when you can, you can get up to 24 flags per day. Even if, more realistically, you “only” can use around 18 of those per day, if you manage even a 50% win ratio (say, with relatively quick mono attacks), that’s safely on pace to fill the Quick Brawl chest — even without ever cracking open a raid flask. (Note also that Tournament and Hero League wins also count toward your total.)
Manage your cups: unless you’re right at the boundary between, e.g. Platinum and Diamond, you don’t get extra points (or raid chest rewards or whatever) for being higher in cups. Set a defence that allows your cups to drop, even gently, so that you don’t have to face Borg-class defences to rack up your wins (note that with Quick Brawl boosts to recent heroes, some defences may and do exceed 13000 Power).
In particular, if you *want* to get attacked more often, set a defence that’s friendly to players trying to complete Path of Giants tasks (this week, players are hunting blue heroes, and today, players are hunting fighters -- see also subheading below on this page!)
Your cups drop a bit, you get more choices when going hunting yourself via available revenges without needing to reroll, and when you *do* reroll you can find easier targets too.
Good hunting! 🏹
Reviving a long-running old thread from the ashes of the forums…
What is this?
PoG often features a fair number of specific daily (and weekly) raid tasks. Wouldn’t it be nice to get them done more easily?
But how?
Look at what the PoG tasks require, and stock your own defense with at least some of those targets.
But… won’t I lose cups?
In moderation, that can be a feature! If your cups are lower and you have a bunch of revenges to choose from, it will be easier to find PoG-task-filling raids to do yourself. Plus, the more of us who do so, the more likely that you might find a raid defense to attack with five red heroes and three fighters or whatever.
For instance, if tasks include defeating monks and defeating dark heroes, setting a PoG-friendly defense includes at least some monks and purples:
In the above example, this is a defense set to cup-drop pretty significantly within, or even entirely out of, Diamond (being made from all 4* heroes) -- you of course really don't have to set a defense this small if you don't want to drop so hard.
But the idea stands -- simply include what folks are hunting for, without necessarily using your Very Best Defence Heroes!
If you don't want to do quite this much, it would be very helpful whenever you can consider including any of the targets other players are hunting for (especially when it's targeted by class, because it can be very annoying to have to keep rerolling looking for barbarians or whatever class in particular).
I do see sometimes what appears to be the opposite of this, i.e. a sudden dearth across multiple rerolls of any monks or purples when that is what PoG is calling for. Presumably this means fewer attacks and higher cups but... generally....
...why?
If you're not struggling to stay, say, above 2400 cups to remain in Diamond for the Diamond-tier raid chests, then there's generally not a net benefit to staying as high in cups as you can all the time (and it makes your own raid attacks more challenging).
And if there is a particular reason you want your cups to be above a certain level (e.g. to join a certain alliance) and you're not... well, if you've been sandbagging, getting your cups back up is going to be pretty fast and easy anyway.
So if you can, please at least consider not making PoG tasks longer and more annoying for players generally by actively *avoiding* PoG targets -- and reap the rewards when you do include them!
Thanks and good hunting! 🏹
